Home to perhaps the most vibrant cities, Manchester, Nashua, and Concord; the South Central/Merrimack region is a great area to visit with scenic byways, fine dining, picturesque small towns, and a copious amount of entertainment.
Concord, the state’s capital, is the perfect spot for a shopping trip down Main street where unique shops provide locally sourced goods. There is ample parking throughout the downtown area so you can park in one spot and spend the day exploring the city. Take a tour through the State House where you’ll learn how our state government is run, stop by one of the many bakeries lining the streets, or see a show at the Capital Center for the Arts, a 1300 seat theatre where you can experience arts and entertainment for every audience.
Many of the other cities in the South Central/Merrimack region are overflowing with museums, entertainment, sporting events, and amusements that are sure to keep families occupied during their stay. Places include the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center in Concord, Manchester’s SEE Science Museum, Canobie Lake Park, the SNHU Arena, and the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium where you can catch a AA baseball game. Travel down to Derry to explore the Robert Frost Farm Historic Site or spend the afternoon at Benson Park in Hudson where you can walk along the trails or have a picnic lunch. No matter where you travel in the region you are sure to find plenty to do!
